Ice Fishing Derby

BLFGA 2025 Ice Fishing Derby Rules

1. All NYS regulations must be obeyed. All contestants must register prior to fishing.  Register online at blfga.org, at the BLFGA Clubhouse Friday Night 5pm-8pm & Saturday 7am-11am, Black Lake Marine and Chapman’s Sports Shop.

2. On-Ice Catch & Release Stations: Look for the on-ice shack with the American Flag at Black Lake Marine, Roll-A-Way Bay or Chapman’s to enter your fish. The Derby starts at 7AM and ends at 3PM. Prizes will be drawn starting at 4PM at the BLFGA CLUBHOUSE. You must be present at the clubhouse to win!!

3. Catch N’ Release Only! All fish must be entered alive and will be released.  Fish must be released in order to receive a ticket to be entered into prizes.

4. Only one, legal size fish can be entered per contestant (Kids can enter both a pike and a panfish). Pike must be 18”.  Kids Panfish can be a Crappie (at least 10”), Bluegill or Perch.  Bring your registration slip with you to the weigh-in shack.  

• Online registrants – bring your receipt on your phone or printed copy. You will fill out your fish entry card at the On-Ice Station when you enter your fish.  

5. PRIZES: All Luck of the Draw prizes will be drawn at the BLFGA starting at 4pm.  YOU MUST HAVE THE TICKET YOU RECEIVED WHEN YOU ENTERED A FISH and YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN!!  

7. Raffles: The 50/50 raffle and the “2025 BLFGA Ice Fishing Derby Raffle” (yellow tickets) will be drawn at the BLFGA after Luck of the Draw Prizes have been drawn.  50/50 and 2025 BLFGA Ice Fishing Derby Raffle (Yellow Raffle Ticket) you do not need to be present to win.  Winner will be contacted via phone.

8. Be Safe, Follow the Law, Pick Up Your Trash and HAVE FUN!!9. The derby is put on by unpaid volunteers from The Black Lake Fish & Game Association, Inc. All proceeds go to furthering outdoor education programs for the youth in our community. rules here…

Waiver

In consideration of you accepting this entry, I, the participant or parent of the participant if under the age of 18, intending to be legally bound do hereby waive and forever release any and all rights and claims for damages or injuries that I may have against The Black Lake Fish & Game Association, Inc., and all of their members assisting with the event, sponsors and their representatives, volunteers and employees for any and all injuries to me or my personal property. This release includes all injuries and/or damages suffered by me before, during or after the event. I recognize, intend and understand that this release is binding on my heirs, executors, administrators, or assignees.

All entry fees are non-refundable. We reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event due to circumstances beyond our control such as inclement weather, emergency or as required to protect the safety of participants and staff. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. We reserve the right to change the details of the event without prior notice. 

By submitting this entry, I acknowledge (or a parent or adult guardian for all children under 18 years) having read and agreed to the above release and waiver including the no refund policy.
