The derby was great for the club and all the folks fishing. The ice and weather could not have been better. We had 150 register with 20 more in the youth derby.
More than $3000 in cash and prizes was distributed to the entrants. There were 47 prizes in all. The top fish (there were 9 of them) in each division took home cash, $190 to $65. Then we distributed the remaining 38 prizes by random drawing from the entry cards.
Top fish:
Northern Pike winner - 34 3/4" @ 10.34 lbs.
Panfish winner - Crappie - 14 3/4" @ 1.79 lbs.
Youth winner was a Crappie - 11 1/2" @ .9 lbs.
There were no Walleye entered.
Many thanks go to everyone. All the folks fishing, the business' that helped with registrations and prizes, all the great donations from everyone and those that helped and worked at the clubhouse. You ALL made this a success for the club.
45th ANNUAL ICE-FISHING DERBY
The 2013 ice fishing derby is planned for Saturday, January 26th. Weigh-ins will be at the clubhouse on Rt.58 between Morristown and Edwardsville.
Registration before fishing is required.
Registration - $15.00
Jr. Pan-fish (16 and under) - $5.00.
The clubhouse will be open from 6 to 8 Friday evening, Janruary 25th for registration and 7am to 4pm on Sat., January 26th, when weigh-in closes.
Registrations are available at Chapman’s Sport Shop and Black Lake Marine until 12 noon on derby day. Complete rules and regulations will be available at registration points. There are no boundaries - with cash and other prizes for N. Pike, Walleye, Pan-Fish.

Registrations will be available at local bait-shops until 12 noon on derby day.

Judges Decision Is Final On All Fish & Contest Rules
Prize Distribution Hour After Last Fish Is Weighed-In (Not Earlier Than 4:30 PM)
There are no boundaries - Prizes for N. Pike, Walleye, Pan-Fish and Jr. Pan-Fish. One prize per contestant. You may weigh-in a larger fish to replace an earlier entry. We will be awarding the top three places in each division (cash prizes, payout based on registrations), the remaining prizes will be a random draw from all registrants using your registration card, you must be present to win a prize.
In the case that the derby is cancelled, all cash and other prizes will be distributed by a random drawing; 12 noon, at the clubhouse, on the scheduled derby day (this will be from all registrants and you will NOT have to present to win, winners will be notified).
Officers Of The Organizing Club, Sponsors Or Anyone Else Concerned With The Derby Are Not Responsible For Any Personal Injuries Or Property Damage.
